Rugby Canada is the national governing body of the sport of Rugby Union in Canada that’s driven by a bold ambition: to be recognized and respected worldwide as a top 12 rugby nation, on and off the field.
Guided by this vision, their purpose is to inspire the nation on the global stage while leading, governing and supporting the growth of rugby across Canada.
The feedback from the players and staff has been incredible, not only in terms of their own self-awareness, but more importantly, in building awareness of others and recognising that diversity is a strength rather than a weakness.
In preparation for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup, Rugby Canada set out to strengthen team cohesion and communication while developing action plans for the National Women's XV and 7s squads, the leadership team, the board of directors and high-performance coaches.
They turned to Insights to take their people on a transformational journey of awareness.
Beginning in late 2023, Rugby Canada introduced Insights Discovery into the organisation.
Working closely with Insights, Rugby Canada delivered practitioner-led sessions introducing all coaches and staff to the Insights Discovery framework and the language of colour energies.
The programme addressed personal preferences (how people like to work) and their capability. This approach helped the team to understand their own and each other’s working styles, and to identify gaps in performance that needed strategic focus.

Rugby Canada gained a deeper understanding that embracing diverse preferences empowers teams to work together toward shared goals.
The Women’s National Team exemplified this, leveraging their full spectrum of Insights wheel positions and colour mixes to support their collective performance and secure a second-place finish at the World Cup.
