Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust was one of the first foundation trusts in the UK and has a consistent reputation for high quality care.

The NHS has long relied on Insights as a people partner, helping to develop, retain and support people.
In Tyne and Wear England, the Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust operates from are Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon Urgent Treatment Centre and Bensham Hospital.
It provides a wide range of acute, community and older people’s mental health services to the local community and beyond.
With teamwork identified as a major development area, Gateshead introduced Insights programmes to improve communication and collaboration using the language of colour energies and the transformative power of self-awareness.
NHS Gateshead already had a team of professionally accredited in-house Insights Discovery practitioners, capable of facilitating programmes across the organisation.
The NHS leveraged this team to develop a series of bespoke workshops to enhance self-awareness, foster conflict resolution and deepen understanding of colleagues' behavioural preferences.
Individuals developed practical action plans to help those with differing communication needs and working preferences work better together.
The workshops were the start of a series of activities to keep the learning alive.
The Insights facilitators worked with a team in a particularly stressful unit that suffered from high levels of stress-related absences. After implementing Insights Discovery and taking steps to promote its application in the workplace, absenteeism decreased dramatically, and the team went on to win three national awards.
