United KingdomInsights has launched a new Critical Thinking chapter for its award-winning learning and development experience, Insights Discovery.
It is the first in a planned series of new skills chapters focused on the capabilities that are becoming more valuable, as human skills continue to drive real business success in the age of AI.
Like Insights Discovery, Critical Thinking is a practitioner-led development experience. It enhances the already existing suite of chapters and is available fully within the digital profile format, across seven core languages.
New research: critical thinking will be most important as AI accelerates
New Insights research, surveying over 5,000 respondents across 11 global markets, shows that employees believe critical thinking to be the capability that will become most important as AI becomes more common at work.
Respondents were asked to rank ten skill options. While skills including creativity, communication and adaptability were also felt to be important, critical thinking led consistently across age groups and the majority of markets.
Ross Esplin, Product and Innovation Director at Insights, said:
“As AI gathers pace in the workplace and the business landscape becomes more turbulent, global experts are converging on the same conclusion: human skills, and critical thinking in particular, are becoming more valuable, not less. Our own global research confirms this. Employees are telling us that the ability to make clear decisions will make the difference when situations feel more complex, uncertain and pressured.”
Both a personal and practical approach to critical thinking
Unlike generic critical thinking training, the new chapter shows people how they specifically think and make decisions, based on their own colour-based personality preferences.
By working through the chapter in the context of their Insights Discovery Profile, learners can better understand why they make the decisions they do, and what they can change, across areas such as decision-making, prioritisation, evaluating options and reducing bias. They can also learn how to implement this practically in their day-to-day activities.
Ross Esplin added:
“Most critical thinking training treats the skill as a one-size-fits-all module. Ours starts from the individual. Critical Thinking reframes a soft skill as something measurable, personal and actionable, and helps people apply that self-awareness to real conversations and real workplace situations.
"Critical Thinking is the product of extensive research and is the first in a broader series, as human skills become the differentiator for real business success. It signals a long-term investment in the organisations we work with across the globe, to help them meet modern-day business challenges head-on, with clarity.
"Insights Discovery is already trusted across enterprises through decades of use. It is an established, proven methodology, which is constantly evolving to meet the needs the market tells us matter most."
