Meet our Consultants
Alan Maclachlan, CSP, is the CEO of Insights Learning & Development, Toronto. His unique life experience combines twenty years of Business and Sales Management with elite international athletics. He is past President of a respected Canadian company with a national sales force. He competed for Canada in two Olympic Games as team captain and driver of the four- man bobsled. Alan is committed to assisting organizations with improving Teamwork, Leadership Development and Sales Training. He is in demand both as a facilitator and keynote speaker.
Kathy Thom is Managing Director of Insights Toronto. She has over twenty years of experience in the Marketing and Communications industries having managed strategic business planning, marketing program development as well as having had significant involvement in organizational restructuring and team development planning processes. Having spent much of her career in Marketing and Sales roles, she has firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced in business and the importance of productive working relationships. This provides an informed perspective on how Insights programs can successfully support personal, team and organizational growth. As a keynote speaker and facilitator, she focuses on practical solutions that deliver actionable outcomes for clients in many sectors.
Janice Parviainen brings diverse expertise to the Insights Toronto team. Having been a medical scientist and adult educator she applies those skills to facilitation (with a specialty in team building), Management and Leadership training for clients in both the private and public sectors. Janice’s clients include Xerox, Dupont, Magna and Canada Post. She provides consulting services, as well as being a facilitator and corporate coach. She is also a keynote speaker and coach on Personality Type, Career Enrichment and Dealing with Change. Her work takes her to the U.S., U.K., Africa and across Canada. In addition to client service, she is the Director of Associate Development for Insights Toronto, supporting our network of Associates across Ontario.
Jane Ross, B. Ed., is an Insights Toronto consultant who brings both breadth and depth of business and people-management experience to the team after seventeen years in the Marketing industry. Her practical experience working in the corporate environment with many blue chip, multi-national organizations has resulted in Jane’s exceptional skill in designing and delivering programs that provide comprehensive and actionable ideas that inspire and empower her clients to meet their objectives. Jane is also a keynote speaker who works to provide guidance to those in corporate, educational and special interest groups on Life and Career Planning.
Dr. Peter J. Smyth, M.Sc.Ed., M.S.W., Ph.D., (C) OACCPP, brings to the Insights team thirty years of experience in the fields of Mental Health, Education and Organizational Consultation. He holds numerous certifications in the areas of Teamwork, Leadership, Communication, Problem–Solving, Personal and Organizational Assessment, and is also accredited in the facilitation of the Insights Discovery as well as Emotional Intelligence (E.I.) Systems. Peter is the Director of the Counselling Institute. He is committed to personal and cultural transformation through the development of consciously collaborative environments that are motivational and responsive to both human and organizational needs for growth.
Pat Spiteri, M.A. (Adult Education), brings several years of experience to the team as a Corporate Trainer. She specializes in the areas of Management and Leadership Development. Pat is a leader and coach who steps beyond traditional education concepts to ensure that her Insights programs maximize the learning potential that lies within each individual. She designs and delivers a wide variety of customized programs for clients in both the private and public sectors. Her focus is on ensuring that the theory of interpersonal skill-building can be applied immediately to each individual’s environment.
