Vivien Buchan

Head of Finance and Operations

Vivien began her working career with the Inland Revenue before channelling her energies towards a family business.

After managing a thriving business for 15 years, Vivien sought an alternative challenge, taking the decision to retrain in her area of expertise – Accountancy – and successfully obtained the ACCA Diploma in Accountancy.

A flourishing career in Accountancy has seen Vivien perform a variety of functions including General Manager of the Scottish operation of a national house-building contractor and Scottish Accountant for CWS Agriculture.

In September 2000, Vivien was presented with the ideal opportunity to unite her interest in Accountancy with her passion for the development of family businesses, joining Insights Learning & Development as Finance Manager.

Under her tenure, Insights has enjoyed financial stability, steady growth and has established itself as a globally recognised provider of learning and development solutions.

Married to Jim, a designer and teacher of Design and Drawing within a further education institution, Vivien enjoys spending her time away from Insights in the company of her five children as well as cooking and keeping fit.
