A New Building and a New Beginning
Thursday 28th of August 2008 was a historic day for our company. Andy and Andi visited the site of the new Head Office for the last time before construction work begins.
For Andy the building represents the realisation of a life-long dream: “We are building a platform for global expansion from which we can continue to change personal and professional lives across the world.”
To Andi the building signifies how far the company has progressed since its formation: “It will house, inspire and consolidate the passion, spirit and excitement which has fuelled Insights’ phenomenal growth since the launch of Discovery programmes some 11 years ago.”
The unveiling of the artist’s impression of the building attracted the attention of television, radio and press. The media coverage also resulted in the most ever hits on our global website. It seems that everyone wants to know more about our success!
We hope that the new Head Office will play a part in inspiring our employees and our global Insights community, as well as delighting our customers. Large public areas and meeting spaces mean that the office can quickly become a hub for Insights people from around the world to meet each other, welcome customers and deepen connections. A proud representation of the Insights brand. A space for work and play. A space to develop the kind of relationships that make Insights a special organisation to be associated with.
Our business has come a long way indeed, with turnover under the Insights brand exceeding £20 million over the past year. An Insights solution is now used by someone globally every two minutes to improve their effectiveness and change personal and professional lives forever.
But the new building also signifies a new beginning. For this reason, the two Andys chose to plant four acorns below the foundation stone: one for each of the Insights colour energies. The acorn has long been a symbol of human development and limitless potential. It reminds us of how from one tiny seed great forests of ideas, transitions and relationships can grow.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said. “The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.”
April 2008 Update
New Office in BelgiumDuring the last quarter, our Benelux and Vancouver offices have celebrated new office openings.
The Benelux team opened their new office in Belgium in January, and celebrated the opening with a round table session with CEO Andy Lothian, the Executive team, and partners, distributors and guests.
Located in the pleasant area of Place du Châtelain, in the heart of Brussels, this unique meeting point will be open to all Belgian Practitioners. A place where they can connect, be inspired, and work together!
The office contains a large training room and a garden, where workshops and meetings can be held in typical Insights style.
New Office in VancouverAlso in January the Insights Vancouver office held an open house to celebrate the move to their new and much larger office space. The offices are located on the shores of the beautiful Fraser River in the Coquitlam area of Metro Vancouver.
The new office remained full for the afternoon as a steady stream of Client Practitioners, Licensed Practitioners and suppliers arrived to take in the event. Tours for the guests started in the production room and moved through the offices, board room and library. A registered massage therapist was set up in the library and provided a relaxing chair massage on request. People typically ended the day in Joyce Gwilliam’s [need to say who she is]office or the on the deck where they could watch the tugs moving log-booms or the eagles fishing on the Fraser River.
Adding the capacity to host individual and team learning opportunities, including our scheduled Community of Practice events, will enable the Vancouver office to continue to build the the Insights brand as a leader in providing global learning solutions that inspire and transform individuals, teams and organisations.
Insights is expanding! In addition to the new office openings, the number of employees directly employed by Insights increased by 48% in this last year – well above the anticipated level. We are seeing similar patterns in our Regional Offices. The increase in the size of our team will drive and support our growth as an organisation.
Insights Launches Global Onboarding Programme for New EmployeesInsights’ Community Development Team has launched a new global onboarding programme as part of our Talent Management process.
We have created a complete onboarding solution that will support our offices around the world to help their new starters be effective and successful in their new roles as quickly as possible

Launch of the Insights Discovery New Generation Research Version 9Discovery first emerged as a functioning personality assessment system in 1997 after five years of research and testing. This year is Discovery's tenth anniversary, and it is highly satisfying to know that the number of annual profiles generated by the system has increased by some four thousand per cent since our launch! Through Discovery we touch a vast number of lives. Nonetheless the search to ensure the continual improvement continues apace.
We are deeply involved in research and are currently developing a new psychometric entry to the Discovery system. We are looking to locate participants and teams to aid this development and would like to offer you the opportunity of participating in the research. On completion and after analysis, each participant will receive their own personality profile with our compliments. This is taken from the overview section of the Discovery Personal Profile <>.
Should you take part in our research you will be entered into the Discover Scotland prize draw. Should you win, you and a friend can visit Scotland for a week anytime in the Autumn of 2008. You will fly to Edinburgh, Scotland's beautiful capital city, be provided with a car and spending money, and accommodated in a luxury lodge in the Cairngorm Mountains – one of the most beautiful areas of the Highlands, an ideal touring centre for much of Scotland. During your stay you will enjoy dinner after visiting Captain Scott's famous exploring vessel, RSS Discovery, based at Dundee, and while in Dundee will be able to visit Insights HQ.
To participate in this groundbreaking research, and to receive your new Discovery profile created from your responses, please go to:

IDNG Visit Scotland Competition – We Have a WinnerOn Thursday the 20th of September we drew the IDNG Visit Scotland Competition. The lucky winner was Herman van Musscher (competition number 514), who will visit Scotland for a week as our guest in the Spring of 2008. Herman and his companion will be flown in to Edinburgh, Scotland’s beautiful capital city, provided with a car and spending money, and accommodated in a luxury lodge in the Cairngorm Mountains – one of the most beautiful areas of the Highlands and an ideal touring centre for much of Scotland. During their stay they will enjoy dinner after visiting Captain Scott’s famous exploring vessel, RSS Discovery, based at Dundee, and while in Dundee will visit Insights HQ.
Herman is a Licensed Practitioner of Insights in Benelux and is also based in Haarlem, where the Insights Benelux head office is. He and his colleague Hans of ‘Kernkonsult’ will be welcomed by Insights to Scotland next year as competition winners. Herman’s connection with Insights began almost five years ago when he attended an IDA with Pieter Verhagen at the Dalmahoy Hotel in Edinburgh. He has a particular interest in Andi’s INDG work and recently visited Scotland for a Deeper Discovery Experience with his Dutch colleagues. So Herman is no stranger to Scotland! His background in personal development fits perfectly with his current role within Kernkonsult, who now employ around 25 consultants and trainers.
We look forward to meeting you in Scotland next year Herman. Congratulations!
There will be a new opportunity to win a Visit Scotland trip, as we will be starting a completely new Visit Scotland competition when we launch the next version of the IDNG (v9) in a few weeks. We are constantly trying to improve our reliability and validity and would appreciate your participation in the next test version of the IDNG. We will put the link on this website when available – and perhaps see you in Scotland thereafter!
Thank you to everyone who has completed so far – your contribution is extremely valuable to our work!
Kindest personal regards,
The Insights HQ Research Team
